Permission for absence for holidays must be sought from the Headteacher as far in advance as possible, and at least 7 days before the first day of the period of absence being requested. By law, the school cannot authorise any holidays in a school year, unless exceptional circumstances apply.
If a parent takes a child out of school for holiday purposes during term time, this will go down as unauthorised absence on your child's attendance record. Taking holiday during term time means that children miss important school time, both educationally and for other school activities.
